Keep in mind in the 1960s when the VRA was passed, almost immediately racist Southern Democratic politicians were upset because they knew once Black people could vote, they would not vote for them and their Jim Crow way of life was being threatened for the first time ever and they weren't too happy about that. Round the same time Nixon began recruiting disgruntled Southern Dems into the GOP in what was known as the "Southern Strategy" and their agenda was using racist tactics against Black people to appeal to Southern voters. --- SpankageBros ...
