The idea that the Tragedy wasn't just a social movement Junko started, but was instead the result of brainwashing is incredibly dumb and counter not only to how the games presented it, but also to the theme of the games. The theme was supposed to be people giving into despair, not literally having their choice stripped away. It's a shockingly bad way to handle the backstory to the games, made worse by the fact that the backstory didn't really need to be told. This is another MGSV situation where the more you explain, the less interesting things become. Not only is it awful, it's also a retcon, and a pointless one with no benefit whatsoever. I think it's the single worst thing in the entire Danganronpa franchise. There are really no words to express how horifically dissapointing this was, other than even outside DR it may be one of my most hated plot revelations in media. You'd really just be better off reading even mediocre DR fanfic than watching DR3. --- ACAB ... Copied to Clipboard! |
