yeah exactly

so i dont know why everyone is crying.

The point is that Apple is claiming this move is for the environment. But they give you 2 options. You can use your old cable/charger, in which case they're including a completely wasteful and useless cable in the box for no reason (especially considering practically nothing currently has use for a USB-C connector outside of charging bricks). Or you can buy a new charger, which is going come in another wasteful excessively packaged box at the usual significantly marked-up price.

It's not actually helpful to anybody the way they have it set up. If you've got the iPhone 11 pro with the charging brick, then you already also already have the USB-C cable, so the one in the box is a waste. If you don't have the USB-C charging brick, then the cable in the box is even more useless and is a waste. It's moronic and literally only serves as enticement to buy yet another Apple accessory that used to come packaged with the phone but has been removed so that they can charge for it instead.

EDIT: Yeah, I misunderstood the initial question. That's my bad. It's a stupid move because they claim it to be for environmental reasons, but their implementation is basically the exact opposite of environmental. But yes, you can still use and charge your new phone with the old cables. Albeit not as quickly, which is one of the selling points of upgrading in the first place.
