I mean 100 USDs will get you the core rule book and your races codex(that is if you have an idea, the two minimum things you need regardless of what you play. And neither is a single model on the table. And the second point is just the play styles of the various races and factions are hard to know. Because they have so many that are similar and so many that are so different. And the guys at the GamesWorkshops are ALWAYS biased at least a little, like my local one will not recommend Tau to someone who pretty much already pledged for the greater good and didn't realize it because he hates them that much. And the core rule book? Generally half of the book is lore of the various races, but do you think they tell you anything about how they play on the table? Not even a little. Its a shame really because I would love to have more people to play, but I can't recommend it to anyone because it's so very easy to spend 700+ dollars into an army you think you would like, and see someone playing something else that you didnt think to research and found out that is what you really wanted to play --- ...
