A lot of companies will either force employees to use valuable PTO and have the whole day off or, alternatively, punish employees who arrive even slightly late regardless of their reason. So if you take the time off to vote and the line is a bit long you risk getting punished or fired or, alternatively, have to use up one of your valuable free days in order to vote. A sacrifice many are not willing to make. IMO companies should be required to provide at least 1 hour for voting if not forced to make it a half-day regardless of what they do or service they provide.
