I didn't seen a single person go "I want K Rool in Smash so he can get in the next Donkey Kong game!" and I was glued to the Smash fanbase for YEARS. It was a bandwagon, and easily the most successful in Smash history. People like him a lot now because they discovered the character for the first time and like him, but other than that he was minor. Let me put it a different way: GameFAQs is a good barometer of Nintendo popularity, and Isaac at the peak of his strength demolishes K.
