Technically the American people individually own nothing and all the land grants are equally meaningless since the US government controls everything, the same as it is in any other country. The idea of home ownership is farcical because anybody who has political pull can use the government to eminent domain your property and hand it over to any other private party. Connecticut did that to a ton of homeowners and handed their land over to a commercial developer who never developed anything. It's just one more reason why governments suck. --- (\/)(\/)|-| ...
