No, but the Latin root "cremo" literally means "to burn to ash", while the original Latin root for cream is "cramum". Which means it isn't "cremation" that English fucked up, it's "cream".

More specifically, this is why the little fiddly bits at the tops of castles are called crenelations.

Which, to bring things full-circle, means that "crenate" isn't a valid term for burning a body either, unless said body turns into elaborate stonework intended for military defensive advantage in the process.
