yes and no.

early on, if you catch it early enough, you can take steps to reverse it and eventually, not have diabetes. you'll be more at risk than someone who doesn't have it, however, so you always do have to pay attention.

however, if you don't notice it, or ignore the symptoms, you will fully get type 2, and at that point, there is no reversing it, your pancreas is damaged and irreparable. the only thing you can do at that point is just manage it. and you can manage it to a point where it might as well not be there, but it does not go away.
