you can use the outdated and painful fingersticks to check your bloodsugar just fine

or you can use a cgm, which is far better than manually fingersticking, since it's a continuous monitor you can check at any time, wirelessly.

it also connects to an insulin pump, which with software, essentially turns it into a fully automatic artificial pancreas which immensely improves your management

so yes, i do need all this, because it controls my diabetes to the point where i don't actually have to worry about it anymore.
