MrMallard 09/10/20 9:00:59 AM #55: | Medical interference is ultimately an aspect of religious freedom that I agree with, because even if it's stupid, it is ultimately a personal decision based on faith that impacts the individual and their feelings - and no-one else's. I think it's harmful and short-sighted, and I feel bad for people who feel that the color of their soul is more important than a procedure that lets them live their life for a little longer. "Medicine bad" is such a shitty, backwards idea, and having that idea perpetuated by religion is extremely unethical. I think the world would be better off without these stupid ideas, but ultimately if this sort of thing conflicts with someone's personal faith - or personal wishes as a whole - they should be given the bare minimum amount of respect and they shouldn't be treated in a way that they disagree with. One notable aversion to this idea is Scientology's aversion to psychiatry, because Scientology is a cult and they shouldn't be tax exempt. Fuck Scientology. I also have misgivings for spinoff religions from Christianity like Seventh Day Adventists and Jehovah's Witnesses, but at the end of the day, as long as they aren't hurting anyone, whatever. That's what they chose. I don't agree with TC's grandma's decision, but it's that choice that should ultimately be protected under religious freedoms. That's a personal decision, for right or wrong, and that decision needs to be honoured. --- There are no pan-asian supermarkets down in hell, so you can't buy Golden Boy peanuts.
