That's because they almost always are. By definition, they pretty much have to be, because at their heart they're almost always the end result of someone throwing a whiny tantrum and breaking their toys like a child. It's hard to really feel bad-ass when you're doing that.

The more memorable suicides back in the day that people were actually impressed by tended to post a ton of really extreme, illegal, or horrific shit in multiple topics across multiple boards to really make the mods work to catch it all. But that sort of thing kind of died off when they finally quarantined LUE, so it's been a real long time since any suicides met those sorts of standards.

Plus, as most of the rest of the users get older, we're all mostly just looking at the people flaming out and shaking our heads at someone who looks like they're just having a midlife crisis or nervous breakdown moment, where they're clearly flailing around and desperately trying to get some sense of control in their lives. So it doesn't inspire a sense of "Oh, that was cool" as much as it does a sense of pity or disdain.
