From the second Jen mentioned that he wanted kids and she didn't, I figured the relationship was probably doomed and just a matter of when it would end because it's a pretty fundamental issue upon which to disagree. And the fact that the issue kept coming up during their relationship should have been a red flag for both of them. For the boyfriend, he's just stupidly wasted 5-6 years when he could have found somebody else who was interested in starting a family... assuming he doesn't go back to her later and let this issue simmer for a few more years.

And, for what it's worth, not everybody wants to be a parent nor is everybody cut out for it.

Look guys. Given the amount of time I've spent butting heads with Jen over the years, you'd be hard pressed to make an argument that I'm ever going to White Knight for her.

To be blunt, I find her distasteful

Same boat. Not that suggesting that a woman who doesn't want kids shouldn't have them is white knighting.
