If you have a roof over your head and it's not freezing, your better off than many kids, or at least that is what it was like many places where I grew up. So you can have your kid sleep on the floor, in a sleeping bag, on a couch, as long as they won't get mauled by a bear or drown while sleeping, your pretty much good.
