What I haven't seen happen yet is for someone to draw the line between tiktok and either of those other statements. Do I want the chinese government to have a larger pool of data with which to formulate their own plans and agendas? Of course not. But I don't feel like it's been sufficiently proven that the chinese government has access to all of tiktok's data. Clash of Kings is a mobile game owned by a chinese company. Are we banning access to that as well? If the fact that a chinese company owns tiktok is enough to consider it a risk then why not every other app owned by a chinese company. And unless the chinese government doesn't have access to the public facing internet then they can scrape all the same information from our own social media programs regardless. --- ...
