I referred to MLB in that context as the collective sport of baseball and not the league offices specifically. The MLBPA rejecting a bubble is dumb and they should be called out for it.

If they found it too inconvenient or too cumbersome due to the increased roster sizes compared to the NBA then that's a sign that maybe you shouldn't be playing the season if you're unable/unwilling to take the safety precautions.
In my opinion, the reasoning for them being against it was obvious.

MLB wanted 3 bubble areas, Arizona, Florida, and another I forget based on their spring training leagues and such. I think Texas.

However, the players were so much for more money that I think it is likely they turned this down because they wanted to try and maximize their money (hoping fans would be allowed) and for convenience (not being in the bubble itself).

That said, I can't imagine anyone thought there would be zero outbreaks all season. Just have to move forward using their plans they have in place for this contingency. Wait for 2 negatives on anyone who hasn't come back positive and move forward with the players negative and backups/AAA prospect call ups.
