Shane Dawson might as well be one of those parody GTA characters.

Maybe in GTA6, what with so many e-celebs turning out to be awful people. Maybe make some jokes at sitting on your ass for 18 hours a day and getting paid extravagant amounts of money to do it, then copping an early retirement after sexual assault allegations which won't hurt them because they've already made their money.

This is becoming a common occurrence, but it does make sense. Actual celebrities have at least one period of their career where they're drinking a ton and they're doing mountains of coke, living it up because they're the toast of the town - and then you find out 20 years later they had forceful sex with someone, or they started sleeping with fans of legal age and under, or they're secretly toxic and abusive to everyone around them. They get that one modicum of personal power, and they exploit anything and anyone they can to get the most out of that power.

Now, any average Joe can get a taste of that attention. Before, it was gated off to the upper class with their own sick self-interest - now, you've got the stinkiest chuds pulling hundreds of thousands of viewers a day and making a solid living, and using what little fame and influence they have to take advantage of people. Fame, and the entitlement and affluence that comes with it, is more accessible than ever - and we've been seeing e-celebs abuse their influence like that for at least five years now. It's not at all surprising that this behaviour is manifesting in people who are popular online, because any scumbag can obtain some semblance of fame to abuse.
