Per Capita adjusted for area would very likely be more accurate when discussing something that spreads the way in which COVID does.

For example, America accounts for about 3-4% of the population of the world but accounts for around 24% of all deaths. So your per capita numbers are extremely cherrypicked.

New York got it so bad because it was the big landing point for example, but after that they got it under control. Wait on those Florida numbers, they are only getting worse.
