Pichu movement isn't too impressive when you look at the raw data. Pichu has above average ground moment, very good air acceleration and fall speed but pretty slow air speed, almost the same as Peach, and the worst fast fall multiplier in the game, it's the same as it was in melee, so Pichu fast fall speed is almost the same as a much floatier Pika. Overall nothing really special. Pichu pressure is also artificial. Only nair and down tilt are safe on shield, every other move Pichu has isn't and Pichu can't autocancel fair or bair like Pika can.

i think he's a mid-tier but between how easy he is to kill, camp, and especially 2-frame i don't think it's unreasonable to have a low opinion of him

I think that's a reasonable take but low tier is still a little bit off. I can see the argument for mid tier, I personally think the character is on the lower ends of high tier. Maybe dabuz values consistency seeing as Marth is also low while he and Lucina being a lot closer than Pikachu and Pichu.

Also there is a lot of other spicy takes there like Pit over Inkling lmao
