Esuriat 07/03/20 12:30:23 PM #130: | A few of the long-lasting effects of some people who recover from COVID-19 aren't unique to the virus, but a few of them definitely aren't. Stuff like chronic fatigue and instigation of type-1 diabetes can happen with other severe viral infections. But when you have the sheer number of people getting infected like is happening now, even a small fraction can amount to a very large number of people. The damage to lungs and other organs likely from endothelial dysfunction and clotting are clearly the major difference. I expect that given enough time the vast majority will fully recover from these problems, but there's the awful risk of someone recovering and still being killed by a pulmonary embolism months later. --- Essy ...
