Stuff like chronic fatigue and instigation of type-1 diabetes can happen with other severe viral infections. But when you have the sheer number of people getting infected like is happening now, even a small fraction can amount to a very large number of people. The damage to lungs and other organs likely from endothelial dysfunction and clotting are clearly the major difference.
