80m~ people died in 6 years, thats 1.11m a month. Thats civilians and soldiers on every side.

the war stopped cause of the nukes, if the nukes werent dropped the war may have extended for months longer and more people would have died on the frontlines or as collateral damage.

its a bitter pill to swallow.

and it was the bloodiest and most costly war ever even before the nukes.

You can make that argument and its one we were all presented with in school but I still think its insane to say that the bombs were dropped to save Japanese lives. If anything they were dropped to save Allied lives, not Axis.
