Topic | The QWERTY layout is terrible |
Slaya4 06/29/20 12:53:58 PM #34: | I ended up diving deep into this issue. Maybe it's the engineer in me that's coming out, but now I find myself constantly trying to make things more efficient with the least amount of effort. Incase others are actually interested in the subject here's a heatmap of different layouts https://www.patrick-wied.at/projects/heatmap-keyboard/ DVORAK is the next best thing that people praise. It looks too foreign to me and it looks too right hand heavy. Colemak looks to be ok. Not too foreign. I don't like the over utilizing my left pinky and moving my hand across the to the H key. Workman is the one I'm leaning heavily to, but it's too new and not easily supported I don't think. HALMARK is by far my favorite https://youtu.be/pZ40gmfDFfQ (5:30). It was made by some dude with AI. The layout looks pretty efficient, but I would like to see a heatmap for it, but it's just too new. BigSwitchEnergy posted... QWERTY layout is great and very purposefully designed, you'll get used to it. Been typing since Grade 2 or so and I'm really fast at it. Don't hate it just because you're new to it I don't hate it because I'm new at it. If you step back and look at the board it's really not that efficient and under utilizes human potential/performance. --- Am I going too hard? ... Copied to Clipboard! |
