The entire point of the game, to me, was a criticism of in and out groups. It is why throwing Abby at us all of a sudden works so well. You are expected to react with disgust, just as we react with disgust to people who harbor beliefs that we don't agree with. It's hyperbolic, but it runs the same course. We hate Abby because of what she did, but we have no context at all for it. We hate her based on a single event in the entire timeline of her life. It isn't until we are able to engage with her a bit more that we start to soften to her, and see her as more then just the person who killed Joel. --- Tribe Time! ... Copied to Clipboard! |
