This is the second straight season an NFC North team has captured the #1 seed, and this is the first time the Vikings have earned it. In their 7th postseason appearance (all in the past 10 seasons), they are looking for their first trip to the NFC Championship Game.

The Cowboys won the NFC East for the 7th straight season and are looking to make their 7th straight Super Bowl.

In their 10th playoff appearance (5th straight), the Rams are looking to make their fifth NFC Championship Game appearance.

Making a postseason appearance in every odd year since S7, the Panthers are looking for their first trip to the NFC Championship game after having selected in the Top 5 in the draft.

Despite this being their 6th postseason appearance, this is the first time Washington has entered as a wild card. They haven't had a ton of success playing in the wild card round, but when they win, they end up winning the Super Bowl.

Like the Panthers, the Lions picked in the Top 5 of the draft as they made their first playoff appearance since S8. As the last non-Bronco/Cowboy/Dolphin team to make (and win!) the Super Bowl (let's ignore the Ravens in this exercise), they are looking to trot out a similar team (sans Peyton Manning) they had in their SB-winning season.
