Easily preventable how? I hope your answer isn't "indefinite lockdowns regardless of society's ability to maintain it." Not only is that not easy, it doesnt make the disease go away.

Just confirms that tons of the people in the US are stubborn, self serving, assholes who don't care if someone lives or dies as long as they can have one fleeting moment of fun.
Of course you'd put full blame on individual bases and not on the large public gatherings that have been occurring.
