You're not going to convince anybody that closing polls at 6pm is a good idea, so you might as well stop now.
There is no convincing people in these topics of anything. Every person hanging from a tree was automatically lynched. Every noose in a park or a garage is automatically a hate crime. Anyone failing to vote is voter suppression. Anyone who doesn't agree on something regarding identity politics is a racist or a bigot. We get that.

Who is trying to convince you?

I pointed out 3 ways to vote for a 9 to 5 worker. You chose exactly 1 to acknowledge when trying to combat it.

So 5 to 6 is to short a range to vote reliably. Okay. Why not go at 6 am? 6am to 9am is a bigger range yes?

Why not go a day you are off, and if not off, a day earlier in the ten days which is less likely to be crowded?

Why not ask work to leave to go vote if you cannot somehow manage to vote?

I am not entirely sure what percentage of jobs are actually 9-5 anymore anyways, but the fact remains that the people in this scenario had opportunity to vote.

That said, what happened the previous 9 days? Was there no turning away people at 6pm? Was there no line to turn away people? Etc.
