Its extremely consistent with police takes here, actually.

In no part of this situation did Leko point his weapon at bystanders or officers. It clearly says he complied with the commands of the responding officers and peacefully surrendered. This is good policing, all the way. This is the way most incidents end... peacefully.

In fact, most people youll put handcuffs on as a police officer will go without a struggle. Resisting arrest is not a normal behavior, and thats why it catches some officers off guard.

People should also take into account that each officer is going to perceive things differently based on the circumstances of each incident. This guy hadnt fired at anyone, hadnt shown any hostility, and wasnt aggressive with police when they arrived. Had Leko pointed his gun at protestors in view of the police or made any attempt to raise that weapon, I have no doubt he wouldnt be here to face charges.

And it would be completely justified.

This is also in Chattanooga, TN. Each department has varying levels of training. Thats another thing some people cant seem to grasp when they lump all police together; all of these cops went to different academies, learned from different instructors, and have their training tailored toward what that specific department wants from them. Thusly, while case law regarding deadly force is the same nationally, some departments better equip their officers to handle these types of situations than others.

Please don't gish gallop me attempting to defend the police's handling of white supremacist murderers vs unarmed black men. Make your point better and more concise please because I'm not reading through this garbage.
