Your Covid cases are going up again

The benchmark was never "no new COVID cases," but getting them down to a manageable level where they could handled. More importantly, the idiotic shutdown probably made things far worse than it otherwise would have been.

There is no point to shutting down unless we do other things in conjunction with shutting down. And seeing how anti-health republicans and conservatives are I don't see that happening so shutting down is pointless

lolwut? And what things could have been done? The answer is absolutely fucking nothing. Quarantine is the strictest possible step short of a full lockdown, which would be infeasible.

And if the threat were actually serious, why would the government let people march side by side in the streets? The protests have demonstrated that the shutdowns were a politically motivated farce. Clearly we could have done other things instead of shutting down.

States are literally lying about the amount of COVID cases they have to stay open.

Considering that the lies have involved overstating COVID numbers, I find that conclusion improbable. This includes states that attributed deaths to COVID without actually testing for COVID

Lock down at this time is pointless because no other measures are being taken in conjunction with the lock down. So simply being in lock down isn't accomplishing anything. I actually said this in my first post.

Okay, what do you expect should be done? Because you keep parroting this dumbshit claim without providing a single example. And a lot of it seems to be built around your fundamental misunderstanding of the point of a lockdown. A lockdown BY ITSELF is designed to limit the spread of an infectious disease and make it easier to treat patients. The only thing they kinda didn't do with the lockdown was lock down everything, since leaving parks open and not enforcing curfews means that you're limiting the spread in one big way but still allowing it in other ways.
