You ever stop and think that, given who's in charge, that may have been the point?

The shitters in the Republican party want to completely destroy the social safety net.

Can't tell if the Democrats are complicit in this specific part of it or just went with it because they had to do something to help people and this was the best they could get, but I currently suspect the latter.

I agree though, it's pretty fucked regardless.
