Yeah, I've noticed that while watching my characters do auto battles in non-PvP modes. That's why whenever I have a character with a knockback ability in my party like Sigurd or Fran, I always put them last (or second-to-last if I'm also using Nightengale for healing) in my lineup order so they don't accidentally knock enemies out of my other characters' attack ranges.
