I still vastly prefer physical when it comes to Nintendo. Nintendo is BETTER about digital game rights than they used to be but they still give you the runaround a little bit - I'm kind of pissed because I had to buy a Switch Lite because there were no non-Lites available for sale due to the pandemic, but you can't just like, have two Switches, with all your games on each one, you have to have it so that one of them needs to connect to the internet every time you want to play your games. Carts remove this problem (unless it's Animal Crossing of course). Besides that, you also can't resell digital games, and the storage space on the Switch is still just not viable enough to keep an extensive library on, and for all of this, the consumer sees none of the reduction in cost of manufacturing. Physical games just have better value - if Nintendo would drop the price of their games by even a couple of bucks I might see things differently, because really otherwise I would be in favor of digital games, there is no reason to waste so much plastic and paper.
