I don't have any particularly interesting insights about Coraline other than the strange way it manipulates my emotions being sort-of a very Neil Gaiman thing to do. Gaiman has always married his brand of fairy tale to a flavor of storytelling wholly his own. When you look at his best works, they all feel like Gaiman stories.
