In the case of people with kids, it's because they're subconsciously miserable, they refuse to acknowledge it because society says hating that you have kids is wrong, but it's there, they hate that they have to watch over some screaming little primate that does nothing but eat, shit, and inevitably destroy everything you own, and because of that they can't do anything. Now, since they can't get rid of the screaming pain in the ass, that would be everything from illegal to socially stigmatizing, they decide the best way to handle it is to talk about how fucking great it is and how it's their life's purpose and convince everyone around them to have kids, that way all their friends are just as miserable as them, and they can get together, take turns having each others homes destroyed by a screaming, filthy horde, and drink, all while pretending they wish they'd never had sex in their lives.

I have 2 littles, and it sucks at times. No more 3 AM trips to waffle house. No more binge watching Netflix till the next morning with the wife. No more miday sex. Sex becomes difficult, period, especially when the little ones are really young, and if you make the mistake of co-sleeping. A lot of the other complaints, like partying and what not, I don't have cause I never partied anyway.

There are some upsides to help counter the misery, tho they are mostly emotional. You get to experiencing everything for the first time again through them. Seeing your little ones eyes light up in wonder over their first 4th of July firework show. Seeing their reaction to their first visit at the zoo. Hearing their little laughs. Everything is just so new and magical to them. For just a moment, the world becomes a place that isnt a complete, uncaring shitstain.
