Kinda liking Entertainment Earth's new way of doing email blasts. Granted, the highlights often suck or are way off target, but it has a more personalized touch. I'm kinda struggling to remember the last time I actually bought anything from them, though. Their deals have never been all that great. Prior to mostly using Amazon, I think I just stuck to BBTS when I wanted merch.

Trying in general to cut down on merch, though.

Read the wiki for the novella and it seems like all of the time loop shit was just in the movie. Given that the original work was only 60 pages long, I suppose it makes sense that they had to find *some* way to bulk out the story but... wtf >_>

1408 kinda had the same problem. The actual story is relatively short, which is probably why the movie was such a clusterfuck of stupidity. I always liked the original and had hoped it'd be adapted, but they did pretty much everything they could think of to sour the experience for me right down to hiring John Cusack as the lead. That said, Samuel L Jackson was great as the hotel manager and I loved when he said, "I didn't say anything about ghosts, it's just an evil fucking room."
