There is essentially zero reason to make comments tied on people's appearance regardless of age, whether positive or negative, outside of educational or medical purposes. People do it all the time with kids, starting when they're newborns continuing throughout their life, when they'd be better off not hearing people's valuation of them tied to their appearance Comments like that for pets? Sure, why not. They don't form connections in their mind about self worth being tied to appearance like humans do --- Take me for what I am -- who I was meant to be.
