Persona 4 Golden and Pokemon HeartGold SoulSilver, had absolutely no right making it into this contest. Those two are just graphical upgrades of games not released in this decade.

Can't speak to Golden, but I will defend to the death that HGSS is far more than a "graphical upgrade". The single player campaign in Pokmon was largely an excuse plot for anywhere from 2 to 3.5 generations, and then Platinum came along and elaborated upon the villainous team storyline (and Sinnoh already had some pretty epic mythology to it, due to being the home region for literal Pok-God.) That was followed up by HeartGold/SoulSilver, which gave GSC the same treatment that Platinum had given DP. It canonized that the rival is Giovanni's son in the game continuity as well, something that had long been true in the manga continuity, and it brought the box legendaries into having an actual part in the plotline, albeit only briefly.

And it had a lot of new content, like the needlessly oblique Safari Zone. Also, walking Pokmon, which is something that literally no other game besides Yellow did. I don't deny that it was a remake, but given how much changed between Gen II and Gen IV (abilities, the Physical/Special split), it's a huge update.
