| FL81 05/12/20 2:20:14 AM #24: | Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk - MARIA The Caligula Effect - Distorted Happiness Cytus II - Chocolate Missile Match 1: There's something about MARIA being a final boss theme that completely subverts the traditional final boss music paradigm and just goes for being a slow rock ballad that I find really appealing. It goes for such a simple song structure, but does it in such a powerful way that I just can't not love this, MARIA is great! Man, as much as I love cheesy music, Ready to Shave is just not good. This sounds like the music to an Old Spice commercial. The background music in it isn't even bad, but it's wasted on a meme. Match 2: I'm glad Distorted Happiness was able to get in fairly this year (i.e. not by being nominated as the anime version). Great discovery from last year, and still my favorite Caligula song. Redial is decent, but not particularly memorable. ToC: Oh hi Megalovania, song that managed to get a slot in both the main bracket and in ToC. Good match, but it's a lot easier to find stuff in the proven winners of ToC that are better than Megalovania.
