It's originally designed for people who don't want to bother with coding, however I'm kind of in a unique spot because I had a lot of experience with coding BASIC and VB6 for a very long time (of course that was also a very long time ago!) AwesomeTurtwig posted... Nice! Any cool or interesting game dev stories? Nothing too interesting or earth-shattering. I'm a regular dude who goes to work at a normal job and basically spends all my free time making games on the side. I've been at it to some degree since 1987, but haven't really hit the 'big time' or anything I guess unless you count when I first discovered Steam in 2015. I don't answer to any higher ups that make me do ridiculous crunch but the way I am it's probably almost the same thing haha. For the most part I do all aspects of game making myself. So the program / story / art / and music. There's a couple exceptions here and there (ex. I only did 2 pieces of music on my roguelike Equin: The Lantern). Lately I've been writing music using real instruments for my stuff, which sounds like it'd be jarring to see pixel MS Paint graphics w/ distorted guitars and drums that sound like they were recorded in a garage (they kind of were!) Maybe the best story I had was I had worked on Hasslevania 2: This Space for Rent for a total of 9-1/2 years before calling it quits and moving onto something else. That kind of sucked, but it's a good life's lesson and I'm glad it's way past me now. --- Bone Appetit, my skeleton Metroidvania! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1256520 ... Copied to Clipboard! |
