You rarely ever tributed, and 1 card usually did everything, while most drawn out duels depended on a completely luck based top decking. Ygo 3-4 yrs and even last Link-era Ygo wasn't like that. The game became much more resource and deck awareness dependent with high reward on creative moves and forward thinking. You didn't have to fucking think further than like 2-3 cards in old ygo lmfao.
