god I have a bunch of old fuddy-duddies who were bar workers at my favorite pubs on my timeline. They always treated me well, and I have a moderate to decent amount of affection for them, but they're all falling for the same stupid covid-19 misinformation shit and it's so fucking frustrating.

Someone just shared this post that's like "we've had the Coronavirus vaccine for 19 years, wake up sheeple!" and it was a bottle of medicine with a scuffed up word ending in "ne", and the words "Coronavirus vaccine" on it. Someone debunked it thankfully, it was a dog vaccine for an entirely different strain of the virus (hence the "ne", not "id" on the bottle).

There's also this woman who has a tenuous connection to my family, who's still friends with my mum. This is the kind of crowd she cultivates: she makes an incendiary post about the Catholic church for its high number of pedophiles, her friends list go into damage control and accuse her of being bigoted against religion. She makes a post about Islamic people "not assimilating" or shares a post that's like "back in my day if you didn't step into line, it was the belt if you were young or being run out of town if you were an adult. SHARE if you think we should Bring This Back!" with a picture of a woman in a burqa, and she gets the prerequisite 12 likes and a supportive comment about "the muslims" being too big for their boots.

Facebook is a fucking trash heap, and someone should honestly break into one of their server locations and just fucking take to it with a flamethrower.
