Not disregarding. It's just that he associated it so closely with his age, as if being single at his age is something bad or to be feared or freaked out about. There's nothing wrong with being single in your 30s. Or ever, frankly. And I knee-jerk at the implication there is because so many people pressure people perceived as female against being single at my/our age.

OP, whether you become an incel in the sociological sense or not is up to you - but you're more likely to stay single if you do. If you just happen to be simply involuntarily celibate for a while, everybody goes through that. Why does being single distress you so much? Is it peer pressure? Do you feel you should be passing the kind of milestones other people your age and older have done already? What have you done with your life so far? Do you want to marry and/or have children?
