Pretty much. If you think "don't do this toxic thing" is telling men to be less manly and consider that to be a bad thing, then you're promoting toxic behaviour as being masculine. That's the definition of "toxic masculinity." That attitude constitutes the entirety of the problem.

There is a difference between masculinity and toxic masculinity, and as you can expect the one with "toxic" in its name is bad.

What? You mean it doesn't mean "all masculinity is toxic"? And here I thought adjectives functioned completely differently from how they usually work in this one specific phrase for no particular reason. Silly me.
