Proly not as bad as Ubisoft did Division 2. Base game came out. Then you could get season pass or def edition, whatever its called for like $20 more included some random shit and unlocked 3 classes. The 3 locked classes have 5 tiers of requirements Each to unlock them normally. And you can also pay to unlock them with Premium credits. Cost? $10.... Each. Then theres a bunch of weapon/equipment skins, apparel, and even gestures that are exclusive to Premium credits. I.e. only bought with real money. You could also buy credits to Boost a character. Skip all the main game, go straight to lv30, unlock all classes again, gs 515 loot. Which is a joke, because if you actually paid to not play the game thinking youre gonna PvP? Ha. Guess again. The vets would be on your ass in .2 seconds, not a fuckin thing your money can do about it.

I bought the game for $3 on sale. Right before the new dlc launched, Warlords of New York. For another cool $30. $60 for Ultimate which includes some Lv 40 weapon and equipment, i dunno, random shit. So altogether i have no doubt there are players that have spent over $200 on this game, easily possible to go several hundred more to get everything. Surprised they dont just auction exotic equipment in game ffs.

I mean it does suck but that is a Games as a Service title. It's meant to be a game that hooks people into their community for years.

Persona 5 is a single player JRPG that re-released a definitive edition on the same console that you can't buy as DLC and then added more paid DLC to the definitive edition.
