There are a few things different about this virus, that are still being tested.

The first is the fact that at least it appears like people can get this virus twice, within a short time period.

This is usually not the case, and at first the general response was no, once you are cleared you are immune.

They are not sure if the cases they have were just false positives the first time, or if people are actually re-contracting the virus.

This is a big deal because it is so contagious that if people can get the virus more than once, it cause it to become a perpetual problem in the future (quarantine would no longer be any kind of solution in fact).

Numbers often seem to vary by location as well. Drastically in some situations.

Take Italy vs Germany. When this all started they were opposites with Italy being the western country that took the most stringent and severe precautions, and Germany literally still having large sporting events and basically ignoring it.

Italy has had 107k cases but 13,155 deaths.

Germany has had 77k cases and 900 deaths.

Yet Italy took way more precautions. There is no logical explanation for this at all.

Germany is almost at a 1% death rate, and Italy is at over a 10% death rate.

There are other things that don't make sense as well. The virus seems to spread even in situations of extreme lockdown (again Italy is a good example here), where people are social distancing. It has been known for awhile now that 6 feet was not enough to prevent the spread, but even 21 feet (I believe is the new recomendation) does not seem to actually be a safe distance.

The extreme difference from one location to another in how contagius this virus seems to be, and how deadly is confusing many people/countries. There is no logical explanation at this time.
