I saw a comment in an old thread on Reddit (while looking through older Yuki Yuna discussion threads for screenshots/gifs to download) in regard to the comparisons between the two. That comment said that *possible vague spoilers for both shows* Madoka Magica was about the heroes of the story suffering horribly while saving the world, while Yuki Yuna was more about the heroes of the story suffering horribly after saving the world. Essentially, if Madoka Magica was a magical girl war story, Yuki Yuna was a magical girl post-war PTSD story. I don't know how true that is, but considering that the big "war" in Yuki Yuna seems to have ended in episode 5, it at least seems possible that it could be going down that route. FL81 posted... I might get around to watching more than the first season one day <_< MJOLNRVII posted... I remember picking up Yuyuyu the season it was first airing because of people making constant Madoka comparisons. I did't like it as much and didn't care for it for years(aside from the OST) until I noticed its prequel LN was getting a movie a few years ago. Now I guess I'm a big fan after reading and watching everything, but the first season is probably my least favorite part of the whole thing. Nowayu>Wasuyu>Yuyuyu S2>Kumeyu/Yuyuyu S1 for me as the most recent LN isn't finished iirc. I've heard how good the other stuff is, but for now I'm only planning on watching this original season.
