They probably won't actually amend the bill at this point because it already passed the senate.

Anyway here is what it says currently.

The bill authorizes a direct payment of $1,200 to every U.S. resident with a social security number who makes up to $75,000 per year, plus $500 per child. People who earn more than $75,000 will receive a smaller payment and the checks are phased out completely for people who make over $99,000.

As you can see it's ambigous as children are US residents with social security numbers. Did they just not realize this? The wording as of now, makes it seem like every child will get $1200 as well AND the parents will get an extra $500 per child lol.
again, wolfy, you have to have filed taxes before.

a child is not doing that.
