(and before anyone says anything, yes, this makes any WWE game qualify where you have *full* control over the creation and story before them) Mechanics that help reinforce the RPG are things like upgrading stats with a detailed number system (depth of numbers and their systems notwithstanding), open worlds, choices that impact story, and an intentional attempt to make the player believe they are the character they are playing as.
