There is an actual "bug" where using a key on the wrong door can leave you unable to access all of the keys you need to finish the dungeon, breaking the entire game. I've never personally encountered it, and I'm pretty sure doing so goes against the intuitive flow of the dungeon, but it is definitely a thing and not just people having trouble finding a well-hidden key. --- This is my signature.
