Meta-wise, it was just kind of an awkward concept designed to setup the "gotcha" of being unable to finish the case but it not mattering. It's a lot of why I dislike 4-4, since the entire last court segment has almost no actual cross-examinations or anything. Jabodie posted... Hm, that's a shame. I'm not sure I'd want to play fan translations either tbh. AAI2 is tied with AA3 as my favorite in the series, and the only reason I don't rank I2-5 over 3-5 as my favorite case in the series is that 3-5 had the pure emotional payoff of three games of plot and development. AAI2 is absolutely phenomenal, and the fan translation is good enough that you'd never notice that it isn't an official translation.
