Like, I get that that info is not inherent in the terminology used on the matter, but how dumb do you have to be for your reaction to be "oh they reach back and take income you previously did not have to pay [as much] taxes on if you earn one dollar above the bracket" rather than "no, that would be stupid, I should research this and educate myself." --- "That thick shaft that causes women to shudder!" ...
